CASE STUDY · SSI SKILLS CENTER
A secure path to the exam
For SSI Skills Center, we built a website that takes people interested in working in private security from their first question all the way to registration – and lets them try teaching samples and a practice exam before they sign up.
The client and the brief
SSI Skills Center is the accredited professional training run by SSI RSP, s. r. o. It prepares people for the type S and type P professional competence exams, which are organized by the Slovak Ministry of the Interior. The training center is at Rozvojová 2 in Košice, and classes are held in person, online or in a combined format.
People arrive with different questions. One wants to start a new career, another’s competence card is about to expire, and a third first wants to know how the training works. On top of that, the exam questions are public, so the website has to explain what makes this training different. One line sums it up: “From memorizing to understanding. From the exam to practice.” The website’s job was to prove that line, not just repeat it.
What we designed
The homepage doesn’t open with a company introduction but with the visitor’s own question: “Do you want to work in private security, or do you need to renew your professional competence?” Below it are four cards based on the visitor’s situation: they want to get started, they need to renew, they want to know how the training works, or they want to sign up right away.
Dark blue feels serious and trustworthy, as it should in the security field. Amber highlights the main step – the no-obligation registration.
We didn’t build the website on a template, but as a custom web application. The public pages, samples, tests and the study zone for participants all form a single whole.
How the website works
- Training types and the process. The Type S and Type P pages explain who the training is for, what participants learn and what happens after the course. The Training Organization page describes the teaching formats and the whole process from registration to the exam.
- Card renewal. A dedicated page for people whose card is about to expire recommends starting about 4 to 5 months ahead and breaks the process into nine steps.
- Samples without logging in. The public part of the study zone offers a sample video presentation, audio lecture, presentation and infographic from the training, so people can see how it works before they decide.
- Tests and official questions. The sample type S exam has 40 questions and 80 points, and there are quick five-question tests for both type S and type P. The website also lists the 250 type S and 330 type P questions published by the Slovak Ministry of the Interior, with the correct answers deliberately left unmarked.
- No-obligation registration. The form asks about the type of training, whether the person is signing up alone or with a group, and whether weekend classes would suit them. The website makes it clear that registering isn’t an order.
- Answers and documents. The FAQ is split into six topics, and the footer has the terms and conditions, price list and program descriptions as PDFs. The Contact page also helps with parking and public transport.
- Mobile. On a phone, the No-Obligation Registration button stays right in the header. According to the website, a regular browser is all you need to study, and the study zone also works on phones and tablets.
The result
SSI Skills Center has a website where people can work out for themselves which type of training they need and how it works. They can try the teaching approach before registering, and when they decide, they sign up with one no-obligation form. For participants, the website then serves as the entrance to the study zone, where they have video lessons, presentations, infographics and tests until the exam.
